Summer here is a celebration of all things that make living wonderful. From swimming and enjoying the rides at a waterpark to making new friends at the zoos, and even plenty of summer camp options for the kids -there’s something for everyone!
This year we’ve rounded up our favorite summer activities and events in Dallas with an eye toward making them as easy to plan and book – so you can spend your time doing what really matters: having fun with your loved ones this summer!

Kids will have a blast this summer enjoying educational tours, games, creative projects, close-up animal encounters, and more in these awesome summer camps!

The different themes for the 2022 week-long summer camps are Dino Camp, Zoo Explorers, and Keeper Camp!

This 160-acre zoo is home to more than 2,000 animals and 400 different species!

Learn about the animals, feed giraffes, enjoy birds landing, and more while you enjoy a lovely summer day.

During this summer camp, campers will use the Magic Planet, a digital interactive globe that allows exploring the planets, the moon, and other objects.

Kids will also enjoy some time outdoors exploring the fascinating characteristics of planet Earth!

At Lakeside Park, kids will feel like they’re in a fairytale!

This beautiful picnic spot features a waterfall, tall trees for nice shade, and more! After enjoying your meal, you can all explore the different walking paths!

Visit the Cameron Park Zoo this summer, or all year long, and enjoy this family-favorite activity: Scavenger Hunts!

Palo Duro is the second-largest canyon in the country and it lies in the heart of the Texas Panhandle.

You can explore the canyon by foot, car, horse, or bike! There are plenty of Group Sites to rent and all sites offer picnic tables and plenty of space for kids to play and run around! Guests will enjoy a unique outdoor day!

The Science Explorers summer program takes kids on four weeks of discovery, adventure, and fun!

Kids will have four themes to choose from, each camp is five days of hands-on learning to engage and challenge all future thinkers, inventors, and innovators.

During this great walk, participants will learn how close the planets are to each other and will take a walk through a scale model of the solar system!

Kids entering 1st-2nd grades (ages 6-8) will get to enjoy these awesome camps!

They can choose between Flight 101, in which they will learn about the history of flight through activities, games, and exploring the Museum; and Planet Hoppers in which they will explore the solar system by doing science experiments, experiencing the planetarium, and making space artwork!

Hope Park

Hope Park is a great fun spot for all ages and abilities. It features an awesome splash pad with leaf-like structures and water arches.

Kids can also enjoy a climbing wall, a tire swing, and more!

If you’re a beginner or intermediate birder, these bird walks will help you with bird spotting and identification techniques!

Prairie, woodland, and wetland habitats are included in these walks, and you can ask all the questions you want to experienced birders.

Outreach Programs at the Perot are divided into many different themes and offered on selected dates.

Located between Dallas and Tyler in Canton, Splash Kingdom Waterpark features amazing water attractions for all ages.

Summer Classes at the Living Science Center provide kids of different ages with a fun hands-on, minds-on opportunity to explore the natural world!

You’ll find many programs that offer an interactive, engaging way to learn about wildlife, ecology, and the environment.

The Fort Worth Astronomical Society will be joining Dinosaur Valley State Park for an evening of celestial fun!

If you want to observe planets, stars, and galaxies up close and with the help of knowledgeable astronomers, don’t miss this great party!

Camps at the FOFM are divided by grades and kids can choose between Aviation or Space themes, or attend both! Kids entering 3rd-4th grades (ages 6-8) can choose between

Kids ages 3 to 17 will have an awesome summer enjoying these camps at the Fort Worth Zoo!

Each camp is divided by age group and campers will explore the wonders of wildlife and nature through exciting activities and animal encounters.

Home to more than 500 animal species including 72 species of mammals, 148 species of birds, and 172 species of ectotherms, Fort Worth Zoo offer many great exhibits for the entire family to enjoy a great day!

Dallas Zoo visitors ages 7 and up have the chance to help restore the sea turtle habitat on South Padre Island.

Besides learning about sea turtle conservation and ecology, visitors will be helping the Zoo’s partners at Sea Turtle, Inc. with important conservation projects.
